    Thompson/Center Encore

I was interested in getting a Thompson/Center encore because it seems so versitile. I plan to hunt with it as well as using it for plinking. Does anyone have one and if so what do you think. Is it all hype or would I be better off going with a conventional inline muzzleloader?

I really enjoy my Encore collection. I am not into muzzleloading, but I certainly would choose the Encore over the others. I currently have a .22lr, .223, .243, .270, .300 Win mag. and a 20 Ga. I own bolt action and Ar's as well, but derive the greatest shooting satisfaction from the TC's. The quality, accuracy, and overall feel is excellent,

Same here, no muzzle loading but alot of Encore and Contender stuff in general. Very versatile, although I tend to like larger calibers in the 14" & 15" barrels - 350s, 375s and 45/70, 405. But I prefer smaller calibers in rifle form such as 25/35, 7-08, 223. Keep in mind it's a very compact set up and although I don't mind getting belted around a bit by 416s or 458s on the full sized rifles, I don't think the Encore is at its best in heavier calibers. Just my view, may be influenced by me liking about a +15" length of pull.
