J Stevens double barrel 12 guage

I was recently given an old shotgun by my father in law. he said it was his brother in laws fathers and thought it was a 1915 model. on the side it says, J. Stevens A.& T. Co. Inside it has the numbers. 4924.
can anyone tell me the vintage of this shotgun or tell me where to find out?
