This is what I found at the Phoenix SAR show this last Friday. I already have one in my collection, however that rifle is a bolt mis-match which is the most common way these rifles are found.
The rifle I got at the SAR show is completely matching and is in excellent plus condition. This rifle isn't importer marked, indicating it was imported into the US before 1968.
Hard to believe these were made over a century ago at Mauser's Oberndorf factory.
IMHO this rifle was the most beautiful of all the South American Mauser rifles. The Peruvian's specified that the receivers of these rifles were of a longer type so "Mauser Original" could be placed below the Peruvian national crest.
The rifles were also unusual that they were specified to be made with the Lange Vizier rear sight, which was found on the German GEW98 rifle.
I've searched for years to find a all matching example.
Enjoy!!
