Radom Vis 35 sold for $4950.00???

OK, it is a pre-nazi, with a slot, apparently in great shape, but $4950 (plus 18% premium) for a Radom? What am I missing here?

Bid in a Proxibid online auction to acquire a Slotted Polish Eagle F.B. Radom VIS 35 1939R in 9MM from Antiques and Estate Auctioneers/Rush2Arms.

It's a pre-war, pre Nazi occupation, Polish made VIS 35 in excellent condition. Polish made VIS's are a lot rarer than German occupation made ones, they are much better quality, and they were used by Polish officers before/during the war. That's why it went for so much. It's a little high as it's the most common year, I'd think it would be closer to $4500-$5000.

Earlier this year a 1936 rig sold for $12,555.21

F.B.RADOM ~ VIS POLISH EAGLEMFD 1936, 1st YEAR PRODUCTION FANTASTIC SHAPE, ALL MATCHING W/ HOLSTER, 3 MAGS, ROD NO RESERVE! Here's a super nice item for the c

Look at it this way, you can get a nice, wartime 1911 for $1500-$2000, so why did a Singer sell for $80,000? I mean it's the same gun right?

It is pretty nice and prewar VIS Mod.35's in decent condition are rare as can be, but that is a lot of money. Just for reference, I picked up a 1942 three lever for $600 which seems much more reasonable to me.

Many collectors will pay a lot to fill a long-time hole in an otherwise great collection.

If the buyer had the disposable income, and really wanted it that bad, then why not.
