This. I have a Swedish Mauser. With most of the blueing gone but it’s got awesome rifling and is a good shooter. As long as the bore checks out. It will be GTG

I'm already in the process of acquiring my first SKS through a trade. If I like it, I might buy more in the future, but I'm good for now. Thanks!

SKS are great rifles, you should own one. Given that, there are enough in country to warrant discretion. Poor finish is not a game changer as long as the price reflects that.

I have multiple C&R guns with almost no bluing left. I've kept them oiled and in the safe with zero rust issues.

Make sure you get good stripper clips. The best I've found are Czech BXN marked. They work like butter. Don't waste your time with cheap ones that don't work.

Don't buy an SkS. You'll end up wanting more. Eventually you'll start sneaking them in the house hiding them from the wife. rerouting finances to hide money for the addiction and in time Divorce. Keep the shotgun and move on.

I have one. Had that one about 25 years. One of my favorites to shoot.
Just one. I should name it Ruffles.

Whatever you do, don't get a paratrooper. Once you've handled the short barreled girls, you'll never turn back PAX

The Paratroopers were/are a marketing abomination but are my favorite "commercial" SKS. They've come in a few flavors and I just picked up another from NC, an early /26\. They're the handiest little riffles. PAX

Similar to the Gibbs Ishapore 2a1 in 7.62 nato Tanker. I know not a true vintage military issue rifle but its one of my favorite wood rifles. Dam near better then the Finn 39 in my opinion, almost : ) maybe someone will make a tanker m39!! Hahha

Thats really the only sks i would spend money on now, shorty.

Me too, if I run across them for under $400 I'll swoop in on it.
I'll also do SKS saves or restos if cheap enough though, and I just finished a couple $80 SARCO builds. PAX
