    Winchester 1895 Russian Contract Sling

I have a sling that has been identified as a Winchester 1895 Russian Contract sling. It is 40" long and just under 1" wide. The double buckle rollers have "Pat Jan 12 1897" on them. The condition is awfully nice for such an old sling and I've only seen one other sling with the 4 strips going down the length. Both of which makes me wonder if it's a reproduction. I'm hoping someone here has seen another one like this or has any information on it.

    Thanks.

I don’t know anything about these slings specifically, but it looks legit old to me. If it is a repro, it is either an old one or exceptionally well aged somehow.

Doing more research, the Winchester 95 sling is supposed to be 46" whereas mine is 40". Not sure if the info. is wrong or my sling isn't long enough. Also, the same sling was used later on Savage 99 and Win 94 rifles with fishhook swivels but the same "Pat Jan 12 1897" stamps on the double rollers. I need to find more definitive information on these slings but info. is scares.
