Anyone on this forum have any insight of historical pricing on Papa and Baby Nambus?

Being of Japanese extraction, I felt compelled to collect some Nambu pistols.

They are way back in the safe and my examples aren't pristine. The last one I got was like in the early 90's. I have a two barrelled flare pistol, a couple of Nambu revolvers, 8 Type 14s (including a large trigger guard/winter glove variant), a Sugiura, a Papa and a Baby variant.

I could never find a Grandpa variant.

When prices started to go to what I considered crazy levels, I went to collecting G43/K43 rifles/carbines.

Although I do not understand the allure of them, they are spoken for in my will.

*In terms of cost? The Papa was like 1100 in the 90's, the Baby near 2k and the Sugiura was more than the Baby. If my memory is to be trusted. I thought I was robbed, but I have never seen them in hand before or since - so I don't know how badly I was reamed.

A nice, original, matching, including mag, baby nambu will be in the $4000+ range these days. A rough-ish mag mismatch will still be ~$2500+

Accessories for baby nambus are crazy expensive as well, I've seen an original box of ammo sell for $1500, an original holster will easily be $1500-$2000+

A good amount of the very nice baby nambus have been refinished or touched up, I know people that paid a lot of money for them without realizing that they were refinished

Papa Nambus will start in the ~$700 for the rough, mismatched, import marked, examples that came out of China

Nice, but mismatched, bringback Papa Nambus will start in the $1400+ range, very nice all matching ones will be $1800-$2000+

The nice ones don't sell publicly very often, both of the ones I got were bought directly from collectors, not gunbroker, etc

Grandpa nambus will generally be in the $6,000+ range for the roughest ones, I know of a mint all matching rig (matching stock, 2 matching mags) that sold for around $26,000 (if I remember correctly)

I still need a Baby Nambu, but I don't think I can bring myself to spend the kind of money they are going for these days.

I do have two Papas though, a very early Tokyo Gas Electric 1st Naval contract and a Tokyo Artillery Arsenal made one

Shoot, I would be happy if I could just find a decently priced Type 26. Well a nice Type 26 and maybe a Type 94......
