      If you want a shooter, I'd suggest getting something with a top strap and stay away from brass frames. They are much more likely to stretch. Also, if you want a gun that portrays a CSA used handgun, a steel framed gun will do and was actually prefered. Even a US marked or issued gun would be correct since battlefield pick-ups were commonly used. My first C&B revolver was a .36 Remington repro. It's a fun little plinker and was the first gun that my old girlfriend ever fired. Not many people can say that anymore.

        While I personally like the looks of the colt's, the 36 Remington is a excellent choice as well. I have one and enjoy breaking it out for shooting from time to time.

        Only thing I don't like about Remingtons is they have a tendency to smash the nipples.
