Hopkins and Allen XL No. 3 - mint in box with ammo

What do I have here folks?

I literally am trying to help a little old lady sell off her deceased husband's collection.

Research tells me anywhere from a few hundred to maybe as high as $4K.

I am hopeful for $4K because it's in better condition than those I see at $4K, has 65 vintage era bullets, with vintage era wood box WITH the key, with vintage era cleaning rod and brush (under the pistol in the picture).

Should I send it to an auction house like Rock Island?

Looks similar to a H&R Bulldog.
    Keep it simple!

Auctions are ok, they, of course take their cut, and she'd lose out on that. But for a really neat piece like that, might be the best bet with the most exposure.

Auction it. She will need to expose it to the largest audience possible to attract a well heeled H&R collector.
