Interesting Winchester M12 matched set, info please?
"....And that was fear. It is your constant enemy, and at once your most faithful companion. It is against it that you will fight. Come to love it like a brother, and it will never surprise you." - Born for the SaberTags: None -
The first thing you do is get a Cody letter on it. That will verify if it's a matched set. It will also tell you what configuration the three separate assemblies left the factory as. If it wasn't built as a matched set, the record will show if it was returned to the factory, and had a second barrel assembly fitted to it, and serial numbered to the gun.
If it's worth a lot to Winchester Collectors, someone will make a fake of it. Before any kind of value can be put on it, it has to be verified. "IF" the factory ledger isn't available for that serial number, the polishing room records will have the basics.
