    Expired COE

For some reason I let my COE expired, not sure how that happened.

(My C&R lic is still good)

So now what I do if I want to get another one?

How long ago did it expire? Take a look at discussion HERE. You may still be able to renew without having to go through the whole process.
Stop calling them Lawmakers. It only encourages them.

I believe there's a 3 month grace. Submit your renewal with drivers license/ID online.

The COE has to be renewed electronically and there is no yearly reminder. Set a calendar event reminder. If you are eligible to renew, you will need to provide an image of your DL when you renew.

As others have said, if it's less than 90 days, then just renew online. If it's more than 90 days, they you reapply (Livescan) online. I had to do the latter and they just essentially renewed my COE number and it only took a few days.

I got a letter in the mail 30 days before my COE expired reminding me to renew.

Yup - it's waaaaay more than 90 days, so it's another live scan

I never got a letter, so I'll put a calendar reminder

I let mine expire last year and my O3 this year. I moved out of state, have no use for either at the moment.
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Hah - I've let mine expire in the past and had to reapply more than once -
Whatever the word is for being disorganized about dates and keeping them, I am guilty of.
I've had to re-up my DOJ COE, my DOJ EFP and my 03 (several times) - all down to international work and basically living a life that isn't organized into 365 day or three year intervals.
It's really irritating, and usually I notice just before I need to use them.

                  Point is, just reapply.

                    GOOOD NEWS!
I was going through my files on my laptop and low and behold a COE with a expire date of October 2019! I am good to go!
In my defense - That was a bad period during that time; I was scheduled for heart surgery (valve replacement and a couple of other items)so I was def preoccupied!
FYI - my recovery is going nicely, (The surgery was Oct 30 2018) looking forward to going back out and shooting soon!

Time to tell the doc that you need some range time to properly heal.
Glad to hear you're doing better.
