I have an old rolling block (43 Spanish) that I am taking apart for the first time (never shot by me). There is quite a lot of pitting under the wood (fore stock and butt stock) but the bore looks quite good (surprisingly, actually), both by eye and by camera borescope. No pitting near the chamber and the action is tight.
How much pitting is too much pitting? i.e. to be safe to shoot.
Anything else to look for?
