    Red9 finally range time

    Update.
Finally shot the red9. Felt recoil is a bit strange. The mass of the bolt is felt. Very different.
Only issues are mild loads with a stove pipe.
Overall a really fun gun albeit a bit awkward loading with clips vs mags.
Kids had fun. Dad had fun all that matters?
Ammo used was reloads. 115 fmj 4.0 tg. 124s cast pc with 4.5 w231.
Sorry no pictures as I was helping a few shooters (Kids)

Since the bore axis is so high it kinda causes a limp wrist effect, and will cause stove pipes. I find that shooting w/ a stock fixes this, and is fun to shoot as a carbine. You could also load hotter loads, but you may not want to over do it on such a collectible piece.

No limp wrist lol. Testing a bunch of loads. Found she runs fine with med to upper range powder loads.
Tried some powder puff loads and bingo stove pipe.

A regular 5 rd mauser rifle clip will work as a hold open to load the magazine if you don't have access to Broomhandle 10 rd clips. Once the magazine is loaded one at a time by hand, pull the 5 rd clip out and the bolt will run forward.

Also the 223 stripper clips will hold open too. Lucky i got some off that internet auction site. Got 12 originals for 2 bucks shipped. Yes they had rust, yes a few needed tweeking. Brass with steel springs. Also got a few 8 rounders too. Its just awkward pushing the rounds in that is all. My sks feeds a bit easier with the stripclips.
Now if only the darn springs and locking block would come in.
