      I have a friend who’s’ father was in the German Army. He said that after the war, his father and some friends (war buddies) wrapped a bunch of stuff in oil cloth, put them in some boxes and buried them in a forest near their town. So, there is a lot of that can be found over there.

            Weapons were in general circulation at least through the 60s. Reading a book about the teen age tunnelers who dug the tunnels from West Berlin to East Berlin to liberate freedom seekers, it mentioned the easy obtaining of WW2 German handguns, sub guns and even an MG42 to arm themselves against the EG police.
