    Walther PP

I have a post war PP, Interarms marked. #66xxx, 7.65, that suposedly was French made in '57-'58. Suposedly, all post war PP's were French made up to about '86.
There are no French markings that I can see, only German--Carl Walther Woffenfabrlk Ulm/Do on slide, eagle over N on barrel above chamber and on frame. There is also a shield shaped stamp on the frame near the rear/bottom of the trigger guard. It has been double crossed out. Looks like a 8 spoke wheel.
So, French made? Any place to look for other markings?
Any idea about the crossed out shield marking?

Made in France post WW2 but assembled in Ulm. If assembled in France it will say made in France. We didn't trust Germany to manufacture guns after the war.
