Hey fellas, I'm looking for the m44. can you give me any leads on where to pick one up for a fair price. I'm not too concerned about looks. I just want it to function. I've heard the talk about them drying up but I'm hoping that they can still be found for a fair price. I don't have an ffl or c&r and not currently interested in getting one. Thanks. Ive seen some sites that only wish to deal with ffl's and c&r's. Does that mean I try to contact one to purchase the rifle for me? I dunno I'm not hep on how that all works. Thanks.

Looking for a Mosin m44

If you order one from an online distributor then they will need to ship it to a local FFL Dealer in your area. Your local Dealer will charge you an additional $50 to $100 for his services.
You could check local gun shops to see if they have any M44's in stock.
You can search the Calguns Marketplace for the words "Mosin" or "Nagant" to see if any private parties local to you are selling M44's. If you buy one from a private party who is also from California then you can transfer the rifle without going through an FFL. C&R long guns that are at least 50 years old are exempt from the FFL transfer requirements within California if neither party is a Licensed Dealer.
You can place a Want To Buy ad in the Marketplace to see if anyone local to you wants to sell you an M44. It will help to include a more specific location.__________________

Try Big 5 stores or J&G Sales online (http://www.jgsales.com/)
There isn't any at JG right now but they come up pretty often (give 'em a call; they might have some not advertised or know when they're getting more)
I got mine at Big 5 for $69 seveal months ago, you still see 'em under $90 but expect a little higher with the drought upon us.

True, I haven't seen one in my store for about 9 months now. I just sold my last 91/30 a few weeks ago and from what I've been able to find out is we wont be stocking them anymore.Comment
