If I remember my history on these rifles, "Gewehrfabrik Danzig" was an immediate post-war attempt by the former Royal Prussian Armory at Danzig to keep their workers busy in the aftermath of WW1 and an attempt to keep their machine tools being confiscated by the Polish as war reparations. Eventually the factory was shuttered and their tooling sent to FB Radom, who continued Mauser 98 production there. An interesting piece of history for sure.

Very cool! Were these "Garden Guns" i.e. A gun used to protect your garden from rabbits and such?

I have no idea, I just saw it and though man that's something I just have to have. I am doing research now, but it looks like the research was done for me above!

These were made just after WWI, between 1919 and 1921.

Serial #2 was for sale on Gunbroker for quite a long time, a forum member (not calguns) has serial #1

Parts of the Danzig factory were bought by Poland in 1919, the rest of equipment was transferred to the Polish government under the terms of redistribution of German property in 1921.

Around this time (15 November 1920) Danzig became the "Free City of Danzig"

A lot of the Danzig arms factory equipment went to Warsaw first, the early Polish made mausers are P.F.K. Warszawa marked, later on the equipment was moved to Radom

Technically, you could have three mauser rifles, a Danzig, P.F.K. Warszawa and FB Radom marked ones, they all could have parts made using the same machine
