how do you cut a mag down? there's not many good 10 rounders for these rifles. I got some that were blocked and welded from Fulton. USGI 15's are the best. you didn't buy some during freedom week?

I have seen them, they are terrible. You cut a aluminum mag to the round count you desire, the rest is plastic block. Like this:
There are also ones that are cut/indented to prevent the follower from going below 9 or 10 rounds.

          Probably the magazine.
Probably the feed lips are spread too wide.

Magazines are always an issue with these guns. I read an article somewhere...they were talking with a WWII vet, and he said they treated M1 carbine mags as consumables. use 'em a few times, then throw them out and get new. of course we can't do that, but it shows that they saw the weakness and adapted accordingly. Try the Fulton ones, they aren't too bad.

              m1 carbine

The mag you are using is the issue try a different mag or a us military mag if you can.

You know OP, if you would post your inquiry in the proper forum you just might get more responses. If, say you were to post in the actual C&R forum instead of in the Picture Gallery (where you post pictures of your guns), you will reach a larger audience. Personally, I don't look in this forum to answer gunsmithing questions.

I read that same article. Interesting for sure.
