'the load, 13 gr. red dot'.

Handloaders digest #10. C.E. Harris on 'the load' (for reduced power fun loads of military cartridges.
Most of you already are very familiar with all of this, but it's new to me (as are old military surplus guns new to me). Surely is old hat to you all.
Has been reprinted in many forums, even by the author C.E. Harris himself here in a public forum:

    I see his warnings.
I would add (as opposed to cast or jacketed) plated bullets makers say they need to be under 2000 fps or they will deform by skidding down the barrel.
Someone commented another warning on this guy's video, it's better to use 12.9gr because 13 is unlucky number...

I have used this load and the famous 10grs Unique with good results. I cast so I haven't tried it with jacketed. However it is a great load for my powder coated bullets. I use red dot for my 12ga slugs so I have it around most of the time.
You do not have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you!

I have tried "The Load" in a Marlin 336 30-30 with plated bullets. It was a decent plinking load but I never shot past 100 yards.

I have loaded this for my Mosin rifles. Felt like a .22 and was fun to shoot. Dropped about 12 inches on a 100 yard target.
