What is your opinion on the angle of the mag and loading?

I find loading the mags to be a pain.

Nice! It shoots better than the guy to the right.

Get the original loading tool which makes loading the mags a breeze. It allows you to easily pull down on the button on the side.

Mecgar makes top quality Luger mags if you want more.

There's a tool for replacing the main spring.

If the barrel is really that bad, you might consider replacing it. You might ask the guys over at the Luger forum if that would be a wise thing to do since the gun is all numbers matching. I'm thinking if the barrel is that bad, it might not make that much of a difference.

I wonder if it's inaccuracy is due to the barrel or sight misalignment. My Luger has some pitting but the grooves and lands are still pretty good. It's shoots dead on target.

                Have fun!

Oh, and besides being quite expensive, the snail mags don't work very reliably. There are some reproductions but I don't know much about them. I hear they're not all that reliable either.

My sweet lord, I had no idea CMP had actual 1911s and not just A1s. I just picked up my first luger as well, 1938 nazi marked, have yet to shoot it, and it's eating me up inside. Did you two hand it or shoot it as it was intended?

Very nice! I am the same way with my numbers matching 1918/1920 Erfurt. I have only shot it once about 15 years ago. (also paranoid about any serial #'ed parts breaking).

Been meaning to get it out on the range again some day.

Fortunately, though mine is all number matching, it's been polished and refinished so it's a shooter and I can be comfortable taking it to the range.

One hand shooting is fine but no limp wrist or it jams.

The replacement parts from Numrich are cheap insurance for me to take it to the range for a few shots annually.

I bet it looks real pretty though!

Actually I forgot to mention this in the write up. It was a little cumbersome at first. What was more of a pain was how the knob bit into my thumb after the 10th loading. Yowza!

LOL be easy on that guy. It sounded like he was taking lessons for the first time.

Sweet gun I also have a 1915dwm. I wouldn't replace the barrel either.
