Source for a replica arquebus or matchlock

I am looking for a lead on a dummy arquebus or matchlock for a theatrical production. Anybody here know of anyplace that might have an inexpensive one available? Not one of those $600-700 replicas. Thanks.

It really wouldn't be so difficult to make a "theatrical prop" from a 2X6, PVC pipe and a few pieces of sheet metal.

What are your specific requirements? How close will the audience be to the performer holding the piece? Will it have to fire "blank" charges?

Thanks for the pointers. I have passed them along to the prop mistress. They just wanted a non-firing lookalike. People certainly could make one as Dave suggested but it's a small community theater and everyone's working day jobs. I think the play they're working on is Gilbert & Sullivan's Yeoman of the Guard.

With a bandsaw and some tin snips, it's probably under an hour to fabricate and a second hour to paint/stain. My nephew made a student film and wanted to borrow some WWI era rifles. I, wisely, made him two replicas. I'm glad I took the time because the real bayonets I lent him were ruined.
