DOJ: Report of Firearm Ownership Approval

Just got one of these letters today. At the bottom it reads:

"Should you decide to transfer ownership of any firearm in the future, Penal Code
sections 27545 and 28050 et seq. requires that all firearm private party transfers be conducted
through a licensed California firearms dealer ..."

What is that all about? Why not mention section 27966 that exempts certain long gun (which this was) transfers to FFL03 with COE (which I am)?

    Is this typical?

Typical, and it’s 27966 which is still valid if you decide to sell to 03+COE.

I think they just want to remind you that you are not a FFL for purposes of handling transfers to regular folk.

I corrected my typo about the PC section. Thanks.

Yeah, I suppose you are right about the meaning. It wouldn't take much to mention the alternative option for transfer (to another FFL03).

It's on the bottom of all the types registrations they send back, doesn't matter if it's OPlaw, C&R, new resident. I didn't do AW or the new FMBUS those might have something different.
