Not sure if there is a grace period for expired COE to be renewed without starting all over.

I read that there is a 90 day period in which a renewal is valid after expiration. Anyway, not getting contacted by email AS STATED IN THE ERROR MESSAGE is not exactly helping me. I filed a renewal by paper.

When I renewed by mail last year, about 60 days before my 2018 expired, I got nothing in return and was getting close to expiration date. Posted here and was told to log on to CFARS. There it was. So I'm not certain CA DOJ is even issuing printed licenses anymore. Or if in my case they didn't because I had a CFARS account.

I ran into the same problem. When I initially set up CFARS something went wrong and I had to make another account. I was getting the same kind of error message. I reached out to technical support who told me I needed to log into my original account. I had to reset the password and it worked. It renewed in about a day.

I was expecting mine to show up in the snailbox. Finally called and learned I had to download and print my own copy. Cheap bastids.

I sent my renewal in through snailmail and get a CFARS email within a few days. Was able to print it out online.
