I doubt many counter people know what 7.92 Mauser is, but if you ask for 8mm Mauser you might have more success. I once tried to buy some Yugo ammo that was labeled 7.9mm, and the salesperson insisted it was the wrong ammo for a k98.

I managed to find both 6.5 Arisaka and 8mm Mauser over at Eddy's in Mountain View

Also make sure the 8mm ammo is .323 if that's what you need, not .318. There is more than one 8mm Mauser.

You can find PPU new-made 8mm at Bass Pro down in San Jose. It's not that hard to come by. 6.5 Arisaka on the other hand...
