    Refurb PU Scope

Going Marie Kondo on some items and I need to get the going rate of a refurb (not repro) PU scope. Yeah, yeah, I know pics and info and all that, but I'm going to have to dig it out of the garage first. Last I checked, think they were somewhere in the $200 - $350 range. That still true?

It really depends on the scope, there are a couple for sale now in the ~$250 range. Price will depend on the maker, Progress would be the cheapest, with Kharkov bringing a small premium, a silumin Krasnogorsk would be even more. Some years are rarer than others

Post some photos of the markings

$250 is a fair price. Maybe be able to get a bit more, but not above $300.

I remember looking this up a few years back, but does anyone have that link listing the different makes and markings for the PUs and PEMs?

It's on gunboards, here is a link:

The scope you have is a Progress, the most common one.

Very good. Means I'm not giving up something unobtainable. Thanks for the help and the links all.

                Nice 1943 scope.

The triangle 25 marking is a post-war Soviet inspection/refurb mark, I believe from the early 1950's period based on scopes with this mark and accompanying inspection/refurb document.

The scope is worth a couple hundred by itself, although right now the market for these is pretty slow, as not too many people are restoring "exp-snipers", re-scoping scopeless ones, or building replicas for shooting, re-enacting, etc., using original parts.

The leather lens caps and the canvas scope cover are each worth $25-$35.

The mount with the old number milled out and a new one stamped in is a rather uncommon item - I've seen another one, but can't remember the details of it offhand. The mount is worth in the $100-$125 range for someone who needs it

The triangle /25\ marking is a known marking for ЦАБВ ОМСК, in the city of Omsk. Thet's where the scope was refurbished

The milled out scope number is most likely not Russian (I've also seen a couple in the past), there are no known complete, original soviet refurbs with these markings, nor do they exist in manuals/factory directives in Russia. I asked Ratnik (researcher/author of several books on Russian firearms) and he has never seen one before

My best guess at the moment is that this was done by an importer. Someone likely got scopeless rifles, or ex snipers, and a bunch of scopes/mounts and force matched them here in the US. I suppose it could also be Yugo/Polish/Albanian but that's very unlikely
