Fixed the factory magazine on my Beretta 948 (follower angle wasn't quite right; bent it out a little bit and now it feeds extremely reliably), but came across a problem with the safety. When the pistol is clean, the safety rotates easily from safe to fire - but after firing 4-5 magazines or so (a few dozen rounds), the safety locks up in the safe position.
Even extreme force trying to push the safety down, does nothing. Only by locking the slide back and using the safety to drop the slide, can I rotate the safety into the fire position. Rotating the safety back to safe, causes it to lock up there until I lock the slide back and drop it with the safety.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?
