Thanks for the video post hermosabeach, I just did a major boneheaded move and ended up with a rust problem and luckily watched the video before doing anything else. We'll see how it turns out

Sounds like a slow rust blue is what is being used in the video. Boil a clean but rusty piece in distilled water
Turns it balck. Then you rust it some more and repeat. And since it's a pistol, finding a pot big enough qont be a problem.
