C&R License - Fast turn over

I mailed out my C&R application on the 23 of Sept. Billed on my Credit card on the 1st of Oct. I just received it today on the 21st. Pretty darn fast if you ask me so they must be doin' something right. Time to sign 'n mail them copies out!

Came in a blue 8x5.5in envelope. Then they also shipped me several handbooks and manuals. Lots good information regarding laws and what stuff I can spend on.

Yes, very normal. The applications are handled by ATF NLC employees who work on a certain region of the country. Some handle multiple states, others handle a section of a big state. Some of the people working on applications seem to be very lazy and slow, while others are efficient and fast. It is not uncommon for one of them to go on vacation or some other kind of leave while your paperwork sits on their desk for several weeks. You also have to factor in the regular background check problems where some people's background checks just take longer for some reason.

I got charged on my card on the 29 of AUG, just got mine today, about 7 weeks. Had to put like 7 different addresses that I had used within the last 5 years. That was probably why it took so long. I didn't even bother to put my Japanese home address XD. Bet that would have increased the waiting time. Where was that list to send your CCR to? Let the spending begin. Think I'm gonna collect all the WW2 rifles.

A shooting buddy of mine finally got around to send in his app. They charged his CC in the middle August. Still no C&R license, yet.

I hope my renewal doesn't take that long (my current one expires in 03/2007). It only took a month to get my last one.

The best advice is to call that number.

As for sending in copies of your C&R, start working your way through this list:
