Those are consignment sales. Those prices are set by the consignor... Many people have unreasonable ideas as to what things are worth. Usually if a item sits for long , the consignor will drop the price.

    The auctions are highest bidder.

Little johns is the best place to get or sell a gun in auction. Gunslingers is ok, but little johns is so much better known and does a much better catalog and auction itself.

However, they don't do enough photos, and the photos the do take aren't ever very good.

You have to be careful with any auction house. One bad thing about Lil John's is they run auctions on weird days like Mon and Tues and even during Superbowls. Not conducive to getting the maximum amount of bidders.

              "Can I dry fire it?"

              "Yes"

"Can I remove the bolt and inspect the bore?

              "Of course."

"Can you take the firearm apart completely here in the store?"

"No, I am not going to do that."

"Do you have any other accessories or ammo to throw in?"

              "NOPE"

"O.K. So what was the price again?

"The price we agreed on when we last spoke."

"Can you do like $100 less?"

              "No."

(More inspecting and fondling, pacing, thinking, fondling.)

(Buyer turns to the very irritated FFL employee.)

"How much is the FFL fee again?

              "$35"

              "Can you do, like $20?"

              "Nope"

The "buyer" says O.K. and starts pulling out a jumbled wad of small bills and starts counting.

"I am going to be a little short here...."

I retrieve the rifle and apologize to the FFL employee for wasting his time with this sorry sad sack.

Buyer says "It's OK. I still want it. Let's do the paperwork and I will paypal you the balance later."

              "No way. Forget it."

As I am leaving with the rifle he says "Hey! Can you at least hold it for me for a while while I get the rest of the money?

This is unworthy of a response so I ignore him and walk out with the item.

              THE END
              Well done Bobby!!!!
