Need help dating this sks

1962 sounds a bit early. All the Norinco/KBI imports I've seen are off a later 80's and 90's production. Post some pics if you can, the production details may give us some insight on what era this particular SKS was produced.

What is the actual serial number? You said 6,000,000 then you say "70" and "0229".

If you post pics it will take about ten seconds to tell you when your rifle was made.

Gonna need some more info (or more photos):

1) Is the barrel threaded (short or long lug) or is it pinned?

2) Is the matching stock cut for a blade or spike bayonet?

3) Is the piston tube and hand guard one piece or two?

4) Is the trigger guard stamped or milled?

3) Is the piston tube and hand guard one piece or two? hand guard is plastic, looks aftermarket

4) Is the trigger guard stamped or milled? looks milled but not sure 100%

Several traits identify it as a late production gun- late 1960's to as late as 1984. Two piece piston assembly, stamped trigger guard in particular are late design traits,as well as the pinned barrel.

99%+ of the Chinese guns can be dated by the serial number alone.

Many of the pre-ban imports scrubbed and re serialized in different manners. The number font on the receiver is unlike any I have ever seen.

My best guess is that this is one of the pre ban imports that had the serial, arsenal and 56Type (五六式) designation scrubbed prior to export.

Without an original serial it is impossible to date to a specific year, but the design traits suggest late 1960's to as late as 1984.

Wonder if 70 could be the date? Scrubbed and renumbered with date first?

Are the numbers on all parts matching to that 60030XX?

70s would be a stamped trigger guard/two piece gas tube
