    Need help Identifying Found Pistol

Hello thank you for reading. I found this pistol in my grandfather's estate after he passed away. He had never mentioned it and I know nothing about this pistol. If someone could help me identify it and what caliber it would be great. Anything helps. Thank you! You can post here or send me a PM.

I believe that type of action is sometimes referred to as a "side lever action" pistol. I think it followed the "Jones under lever " design that some early shotgun had. That might help your internet searches.

Can you make out any of the words even though it might be in a foreign language like the makers name or any other words?

I think I see the last name of page but it's hard from just photos.

This pistol that I've linked to below seems to be similar with the same type of pointed metal pommel on the bottom of hand grip but maybe more of a plain Jane model and a German make.

Check the register. It doesn't exist if it is not on the register for Californians. How the hell can anyone legally own a gun they found?

What register? Do you mean the roster? It looks to be a curio and relic so roster doesn’t apply. Very cool gun OP good luck getting information on it.

You asked us to find the caliber but it would help if you put something in the photos that give us a better estimation of size... for instance does a pencil fit inside the barrel?

If you happened to have a yellow plastic anchor used for putting the screws into drywall, the yellow size is usually the same as a .22 caliber (and can be used for SNAP caps in a pinch).

That said, I'd be extremely cautious about trying to fire it, until it was thoroughly given the OK by a competent gunsmith.

I think Unbekannt was just kidding with you.
And making fun of California's restrictions of your second amendment rights.

                  I think.

Thank you for your replies. As far as the caliber I know a 357 fits but is kind of loose in the chamber and is too long A 40 did not fit at all? It has an engraving up top I will try to upload a better photo.

Definetly I I think it is let page pistol but I don't know the first name. Also this has a chamber plus it has rifling so I am thinking this is an actual pistol.

I thought I saw the name Page and maybe Paris but with a big thank you to Pardini

I was able to find this video from a famous gun reviewer on YouTube...

It was the dueling wax/paintball of their day.

I also found this video about a 22 caliber that was similar and actually shooting...
