I was talking to a friend the other day and he said that his brother has a paratrooper carbine that has been in his closet for years. I told him that this had retroactively been classified as an "assault weapon".
He was a little shocked to say the least but he was also wondering what he should have done, if he wanted to leave it in it's current configuration. I honestly didn't know the answer.
Was he supposed to register it before Dec 31st 2000?
Because that's what I told him but I said I wasn't sure...
I told him that the only thing to do was change the stock of for a wood one. Is that the correct answer?
I just wanted to make sure I didn't mislead the man...
