Sac Valley Military Vintage Silhouette Match December 15th

It's that time again for this fun match. Calling all vintage rifles as well as modern "black rifles" to join this monthly match. I hope to see new shooters as well as welcoming back old shooters. Be at range #6 no later than 08:00. See you all there.

Last sihloutte match of the year. Its supposed to be clear and cold in the morning but, this gray haired die hard shooter will be there with my rifle to keep me warm.

I am going to be visiting family on the other side of the continent this weekend so I won't be able to make it. Though, I am excited to take part in this sometime as I recently was making consecutive hits at 500yards on steel with my Type 38 Arisaka using only its iron sights.

Shot my m39 yesterday at cold steel 300 yds. Banged the gongs well. Would love to smack the rmas at 500+.

My issue is ammo. A surplus steel core is banned on the Sac Steel range, it was not even putting dimples on the 225 yd gong at Lincoln Range yesterday.

I need some sp/ot 54r & 762 nato in enough quantity to come join again someday. Im cheap and dont like spending $1/round. I have too many hobbies to screw around with reloading.

The silouet match at Sac Valley is probably one of my favorite types of shooting.

For those that have never done this match before, let me tell you this is the best fun you can ever have with your pants on. Beats shooting paper target as you get instant gratification (or grief) when you pull the trigger and the target falls over.

So come on over and try it.

For the 7.62x54r look for some PPU soft point. Runs less than 80cents a round with good brass usually.
