I posted this on gunboards but I thought some here might find it interesting.
I took the photos together to highlight the differences between a pre-war and wartime made original Izhevsk 91/30 rifles. The differences are striking, especially the stock fitment, machining marks on the receiver, bolt, etc
The 1936 is original matching, non-refurb, non-finned and not import marked, top rifle
The 1943 is original matching, non-refurb but is import marked, bottom rifle
