    Couple of old holsters

Forgot I had these was going thru some old boxes and these showed up.
The belt holster say US Graton & Knight Co. dated 1943 I'm thinking somewhere this may have been a USMC owned as it looks to have been dyed and then polished? The shoulder holster is a Vietnam era pretty sure it fits one of the aircrew S&W Model 10 4" barrel 38 special I carried one but ammo was six tracers. Its made by Leather Prod. has 7142700 and has the US stamped on it.

The one on the left is a US M1916, produced during WW2; would have been russet color originally. It is for the M1911 pistol.

There a was USMC specific type, it would have USMC embossed on the flap, rather than US.

A lot of those were dyed black after the army changed the official color of military leather from russet to black in the 50's, IIRC.

Thank you I was thinking black because it could be high polished, goes to show we are never to old to learn.
