    Finn M27 tang date help

I come to ask help from more knowledgeable folks.

I looked through the charts on mosin.net but could not figure out the date of this hex receiver.

    Thank you for any help.

There are also two faint II marks at bottom of tang

It's an 1897 Tula receiver, an antique, congrats! The mark over the "7" on the tang is a Tula hammer but with the top part lightly struck

btw, the mark is "97 r."

The "r." is short for "год" which in Russian means year

The "II" is probably an acceptance/inspection mark I'm guessing

thank you, I felt a little dumb because I thought it meant 1897, but did not find the exact same date stamp online.

Hard to believe this is considered anitque. Hardly passed its Finnish prime! I really like these SA rifles. Wish a Valmet was in my near future
