    Can I buy this gun?

    Quick question.
Interested to buy Egyptian Rasheed 7.62x39 on GunBroker.
Am I correct to understand that it is not legal here?

    Tommy
I am not an attorney, but sure, go ahead.

Rasheed are exempt and are listed as C&R by Feds thus legal for CA folks -

Thanks much for the reply ...

Now lets see if I can win it. Expecting it will run up to about $1,200.00!

I feel that is a bit aggresive price -

Here's one but missing the bayo -

They take a blade style bayo - In comparing my Chinese blade and the Rasheed blade bayo they look quite similar -

It is missing more than bayo

The rifle needs various parts including a front sight, bayonet assembly, gas regulator assembly, magazine and other small parts. The bolt (missing extractor and spring) and bolt carrier assemblies appear complete.

Make sure seller will send to Ca, before bidding

This. Many guns are perfectly legal but out of state sellers choose not to send them here.
                C&R nut.

                      Thanks Bobby for your reply.

I am spooked by the "semi-auto, removable magazine" part.
I realize there are no evil features, but still ... you have steered
me well on the SKS's over the years. I have 8 now.

What do you think of the J&G ... yes or no. Someone mentioned
that their offering was missing parts. Or just go balls-to-the-wall-GunBroker?

Gimme your take on the whole thing, please.

Never mind Bobby, I just read the J&G site description.
These are "gunsmith specials", missing parts that you will never find.
This offering is really for wall-hangers!

Yeah a Rasheed is not one i'd want to run down parts for. I've had some luck finding weird crap over the years but a rasheed bayonet? Probably get unicorn eggs before that.

For any C&R that has a detachable (remember, there is no difference to the gov. if it was originally designed to not be removed and fed from a stripper, as long as it's actually detachable it fits the definition) and the addition of a muzzle device it's always suspect in CA. For years I was unsure of a Ljungman being legal considering it has a muzzle device you could say was a flash suppressor or a brake.

The rasheed should be fine because it dosen't have a muzzle device at all. But if you ever are unsure, the common perception now is that you must have some kind of verification from the manufacturer that the muzzle device is a brake and NOT called a flash suppression device. Most new manufactures know the game and say it's not a flash suppressor, but for C&R it comes down to the original military manuals.

For instance, the Ljungman says in the Swedish manual that it's a compensator, so that's what it is. I have a copy of the manual with the English translation and I will go to court with that if there is ever any dispute.

Rasheed definitely isn’t something you can find parts for very easily. However, you can mount an SKS bayonet on it easy enough...just for looks of course...it won’t extend due to the larger muzzle diameter of the Rasheed. It wouldn’t lock open.
