    Radom VIS P35

I have been looking for a three lever VIS P35 for a few years now at a price I felt was reasonable. I managed to get this one for what I felt was a fair price via a Gunbroker auction and I am very happy with it.

This one is a later type 2 probably produced sometime in 1942. It exhibits the characteristic rough finish typical of the guns made during that time period, but is still blued rather than the parkerized finish of later production. Also it still has the takedown lever which was omitted on later guns. It has matching numbers on the frame, slide and barrel, the three areas where they were numbered.

As is my preference, it is in original condition and has no import marks

The left side is in somewhat worse condition than the right side, the result, I suspect of poor storage.

Nice one - they are handsome handguns!

The rough machine work is such a strange appeal isn't it - for a niche of collectors the machine and tool marks of a rushed wartime emergency are the equal of a fine hand worked finish elsewhere.

        Nice pistol, hp.

My son and I have been looking for a reasonably priced Vis 35 for some time. They really heated up in the collector's market.

Last year the word was that Radom was going to begin producing the vis 35 pistol again. I haven't heard whether that happened or not.

2018 is set to see the return of Fabryka Broni Łucznik-Radom (FB Radom)’s iconic pistol, the wz.35 VIS, widely known simply as the Radom.Milmag reports that the pistol will return to production next year and hopefully be available in the in the second half of 2018.While the production runs won’t be large, FB Radom reportedly hope to continually offer the wz.35.

          Nice pistol highpower.

If any of you guys manage to pick up a partial gun or one needing repair I have specific Radom tools and skills.

Don't lose any of the parts, they are hard to find and very expen$$ive. And please don't drive the pin out in the recoil spring guide assembly! That is not how it goes together.

A three lever has been on my short list for a long time. Good catch!

Some Vis 35's have black grips and others have brown grips.

                        Anyone know why the difference?

Same reason P38s run from black to brown to red - availability of materials during wartime?

As the war went on there were at least four different VIS grips.

The first variation are like those on my gun, they are made from a black material and have small screw holes.

Then they changed to a larger screw hole, but the grip material was still black.

Later on the grip material was change to a reddish/brown color.

Finally, as the Russians were closing in on the Radom factory, production was moved to Styer and very late guns had crude wooden grips.

I might add that I think the grip material may be bakelite, but whatever it is made from, it is rather brittle and I have seen many of these Model 35's with cracked grips.
