Another Mauser K98k CE 41

I have been wanting a French Re-Worked K98k to go with my subset of K98k collecting captures or post war reworks. This one actually found me. Local Collector called and offered it to me at a very fair price. Appears to be matching except the floorplate and screws. Pictures are not great, but the weather has not cooperated for taking better pics. Still need a Czech, East German, and Isreali.

It's been a good month for me for Mausers. Also picked up a 1931 Mexican M1910 Mauser matching bolt and receiver in good condition with a nice bore in addition to my Queen Wilhelmina Dutch FN-48. Just need some of the members here to start selling so I can get a Costa Rican, Paraguyan, and some others rare Mausers.

Bore is shiny with great rifling.

It's never a bad idea to buy a JP Sauer, they are my favorite Mauser maker. Something about the ancient industry of firearms in Suhl........

I have a 40 and it still has the flat buttplate. I prefer the 41's cupped. It does strike me as odd that its a stamped floorplate? In 41?

Beautiful find, I would not think twice about picking up a similar one even with the French rework.

I think the stamped floorplate and screws were part of the French Rework.

If it wasn't for the crack in the stock I would. I had an all matching send back dou44 that I sold because it was polyed. Should have kept that one.

He was going to list it on that other forum last night along with a M38. Price was going to list higher but you know what he will take.

Is it just me? I think the Mauser 98k is one of the best looking military rifles ever issued. This one here is beautiful.
