You won't believe the price though...

Used prices for like new have hit $750. These will sell for $800. I'm sure Ruger bean counters figured they would sell. I just worry what mfg corners they cut in building them? It ain't Bill Ruger's company anymore - lots of junk being shipped.

I have a couple of BP pistols...
Why? I don't shoot them, but they are cool and they make me reminisce about old westerns

Why would you pay $924.00 when you can find similar Old Army BP pistols for far less? Is there something special about Ruger's SA Old Army?

I've been wanting one for a while.

I'll just wait until they go on closeout and buy one then.

          LOL @ $900+

Farb AF. The Remington 1858 was chambered in .31, .36, and .44, not .45. This Pietta is a much better deal and in the authentic black powder caliber. That Ruger is good for all the people that like those farby Henry levergun abominations.

Some guns have improved like the Mini 14 and lots of guns are being made that never would have while he was still alive such as AR's and the LCP.

I shot a Ruger Old Army with a Kirst convertor using some trail boss loads in .45LC.

That thing was a tack driver. Seriously impressive in accuracy. I have no idea how they shoot with cap and ball, but if it's anywhere close, a target shooter will appreciate these over a Pietta/Uberti.

Also, they are indestructible in BP form. Even in a chain fire.
