Anyone know of a vendor that sells/makes brass or steel dragon barrels? For reference a dragon is the handgun version of a blunderbuss.
I'm going to be building a flintlock kit pistol for gunsmithing school in a year or so and for selection they have an octagonal or round barreled muzzle loader kit. We're going to learn fitting/finishing of the stock, bluing, etc. I'm born and raised in flanders Belgium and ever since I was little I've been fascinated by the Donderbus and its predecessors so I'd like to build one of those instead.
I've found tons of steel barreled blunderbuss rifle kits and one or two in brass, but not a single Dragon pistol kit. From the looks of most kits I could modify it into a pistol without too much work but I don't want to turn my class piece into a hack job that eats 50% of my project time.
When I'm done with school in Trinidad I want to specialize in making "fancy" firearms. Nothing like gold clad engraved ak47's and the like but a bit more... Eccentric, like the drawing.
I've been an armourer, blacksmith and jeweler for most of my life so I want to see if I can combine the three with gunsmithing and machining in general to make some awesome Dwarven artifacts. For the record I didn't draw the image. I just have it saved as inspiration and my design will be quite different but it depends on what base parts I start with.
So yeah, anyone know a guy who knows a guy who knows a shop that makes or could make a brass Dragon barrel?
