If I had the cash I would definitely buy another one, a field grade. I would probably buy multiple. I have a brand new looking service grade that I got in 2010. Absolute favorite rifle to shoot.

Stock looks like hackberry in the video, could be wrong though

No cartouches in the stock. After further investigating and looking in the cleaning kit compartment (lack their of). The butt stock is solid and looks new.

It is a “hackberry” stock. New production stocks they’ve been putting on field grades

Supposedly the Philipino returns will be more likely to come with USGI wood

Used to be going with a field grade was a sure bet to getting USGI wood but not the case anymore

How did you get SGammo to ship to you? Last time I spoke with them they refused any sales to California regardless of FFL or not, not even to an 01FFL

They arent, they are more likely to have the destroyed unservicable stocks, or the stocks with termite/wood ant damage that have been left behind.

I don’t know, per the guy that goes to the south store just about every day and makes a report, he says there is some USGI wood coming down the pipe on the Philipino returns

The conditions down there didn't do those stocks good though. Moisture, termites, bad storage. I bet very few were in good enough condition for them to leave on for sales. From the video they posted the wood on them all looked pretty beat.

That replacement stock looks great from the pics, especially the color. It will be a great shooter
