    Canceling a project

    Hello all,

I have most parts for a No4. Mk1 restoration including very nice wood and a barrel with a very nice bore.

It has been laying around disassembled for a while and I don't think I will have time to actually work on it soon. Plus another project gun just entered the stable and I am more interested in that one.

So... I want to sell it.

I soaked the barreled action threads in Kroil already and I think it should turn out pretty well.

I will post pictures soon, but... Do you all think $450 is a fair price?

To some die-hard tinkerers, a project gun may be worth more than a completed gun.

That said, I gave only $425 for this really nice (assembled) specimen, within the past year or two.

        You are both right.
It is a different value to me than it would be to someone else.

And if I wanted to sell it I would have to let it go for a lower price.

Personally, that is probably atleast 250 more than I would pay. But it is in the end worth what someone else will pay,not me. Not in the market either though.

I agree with others, if you sell it won’t be what you value it at.

              It's $450 assembled and $250 in parts.

When you and if you ever get around it start a beginning to finished rifle thread. It'd be fun to watch it come together.

Will do. For now I just put it together quickly just to set aside.

I agree. Before and after threads are cool to watch.
