    Need help identifying bayonet

Found this bayonet at an antique store. I'm not much of an expert on bayonets so if anyone has any info they'd like to share I'd appreciate it.
Looks like a German dress bayonet to me, or atleast for a mauser variant. The price seems steep for the condition so I didn't bite.
    Is it worth $75?.20180617_134901.jpg

    German parade bayonet WW2 era - it will fit a K98K -
Yours is made by P. D. Luneschloss, Solingen, Prussia.
If the scabbard is with it and in the same condition as the item you show - $100 - $150
They can get a little more pricey if they're incredible condition with scabbard frog etc.,
    On Ebay - https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...t&_sacat=36045

Edit: I think - but I thought PDL didn't make blades after 1914 and thought it might be rare - but, there are a bunch of parade bayonets like yours made by PDL on line, so maybe it's not rare - time for someone else to chime in, lol.

I googled "WWII German parade bayonet" and came up with lots of ones that look like that one. Different makers stamp though. Prices ranged from $30 (probably replica) to $300 (eBay).

      Good luck.
      Sorry, not sorry.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm thinking it's a bit high price wise. No scabbard either. I wasn't able to find any PDL dress bayo's online so like pitfighter was saying I also thought it might be rare. No such luck.
If it was cheaper I'd probably add it to the mix but at $75 I'll think I'll pass.

Good document Son. I've read elsewhere that even when they have mounting lug slots they're undersized as they were prohibited from mounting. Purely a dress parade item.

Go back and offer $35. Settle on $50.

No harm in trying to negotiate.

I might. The lady behind the counter said the vendor was somewhat rigid. There's some other stuff there that I'm interested in so maybe I'll throw an offer out and see what happens.

Let me double check....Yup, that's it!

That is a bayonet. No doubt.

The young man in the back row with the orange and purple shirt, you have a question?

I do get a little to excited when I come across anything military related at garage sales or antique/thrift stores.
Thanks again for the heads up though.

My thing is British Fighting knives.

Hand drawn - finished - 2nd and some transitional 3rd pattern blades.

Factory finished - 3rd pattern and Tropical wood gripped blades.

Really excellent condition 2nd Pattern all black on top a 1943 first edition of Fairnbairn's book, "Get Tough."

Didn't you just buy another one in the classifieds? I was thinking of pulling the trigger on that one but I heard someone say "squirrel" and got sidetracked.

Yes - found one of the 3rd patterns on the classifieds here.

Just bought a really beat up first pattern for a grand and change, have a feeling I screwed the pooch - we'll see, sometimes you have to gamble.
