A Crap pic of a few Radoms and HiPowers

Some of my pistol accumulation. The 10+ rd magazine ban stopped my collecting of HiPowers so I started to collect Polish Radoms whose prices now make me give up the chase in the last few auctions I put bids in.

Cool picture - great variance in finishes and grip colors on those polish Viz.

What is the story isn there is one on the two tone finish, did someone just polish the blue off the slide? Interesting look.

That particular Radom is beat to hell, replacement grips, missing parts, it shoots so I use it as a house gun. Not a collectable at all.

So, probably not from the factory as a two-tone, lol.

I like these Polish pistols - here's mine:

The Vis has been on the top of my short list for a long time. And, yes, prices have been steadily going up since I first saw one for $500 and have regretted not purchasing it ever since. Like the all the mix-master 1911s I failed to purchase when they were way under a grand.

I keep thinking that prices will fall and wait until a deal falls into your lap, however nothing falls into my lap lately.

The only thing that happens to me is that old appliances break. Must find a good vacuum now.

A number of years ago, I had the opportunity to handle a nice Radom that was a US GI WWII Vet bring back. It was in very nice shape, had rich bluing and had a serial number of "00000". I was pretty surprised at the serial number.

I took it to a collector friend who looked it over and said the pistol was likely a "Tool Room" gun that had been liberated from the Radom factory at some point.

The pistol was from a neighbor of a friend of mine. The story I was told was the neighbor's father was a Vet who brought it back and was an Army MP at a prisoner of war camp at the end of the war in Germany. The pistols taken from the German prisoners were deposited into a "Burn Box" in the camp to be destroyed. The MP Company Commander allowed the US MP's take one pistol each home as war trophy. This tool room Radom was taken from the burn box and brought home to the US.

A rare Radom that belonged in a Museum.

Are you the guy who paid $11K for it in 2012?

Clean Radom - worth that much? Certainly not to me.
But some folks know how and where to sell firearms to get these insane prices.

Having sold and bought a small number of high-end guns, I would certainly not spend that much on this one as an investment, but maybe I'm doing it wrong, lol.

You are correct. That is a very crappy pic.

Ship them to me and I promise to take some better photos to you and get them back to you as soon as I can.

                        Nice collection.

That's very interesting. I saw this pistol sometime around 1996-2002 or so. I remember because my friend who showed it to me passed away in 2003. It wasn't his gun, it was a neighbor (it was that neighbor's dad that brought it back) of his that let him borrow it for a few days to look at it and that is when I saw it and was blown away at the serial number, I was allowed to take it to a collector friend to be examined, before returning it back to my friend.

I pretty much remember it had 5- "0's" as the serial number. It has to be the same gun. The owner at the time lived in Hayward, Ca.

I knew that serial number was unique and given the opportunity to own it I would have tried to get it back to the Radom Factory for their Museum. That's where it belongs.

Honest to God true story. I have no reason to make it up.

Someone got to it and put it on the market.
