Drill some holes in it. You can make them out in the pic, MG42 is drilled around the circumference in a few spots and the Bren is drilled lengthwise along the top.

    C&R nut.

This is off topic but I'm asking it here because you guys know something about machine guns.

Not long ago I saw a private collection and one of the first things on display was an MG34 with Lafette tripod and matched MGz34 sight.

I know the sight alone can go for $3,000; the Lafette for about $2,500 depending on condition - and the condition of this MG and set up is immaculate.

It has all the right papers so it is legal for those who can own one. Given all the accessories, what would something like this be worth as an entire package?

                MGz $200-$3000
LAfette $750 for a Yugo assembled WW2 type - $3500 for the GJ original adjustable leg.
                MG34 - $3K+ post 86 dealer sample - $4K+ Semi - $20K+ for a '68 amnesty registered/ or C&R matching or non-matching bringback.

Lot of variables - what can look like a pristine original - can be a Frankenstein of parts and numbers, serial can determine when it was added to the NFA list, and this makes a difference in collectability, and transfer requirements.

Some states will only allow C&R MG's other states it's easier to get the SOT and letter required for dealer samples, if you have your 01 FFL, the values of these transferable or non-transferable firearms is dictated by their rarity, desirability and NFA status not in that order.

If you're asking this question with regard to making an out of state investment in an NFA weapon I would recommend a Sten, MAC or Ppsh one of the lower end, before jumping in with a $25K investment, that might prove problematic in a few years.
