looks good to me. people always say it'll kills the collector value but if you want to do it for you, who cares. Id also bet it doesn't hurt the resell value to the vast majority of people.

I take back everything I said about "Bedazzling the whole thing".

I was going on the assumption that you, like most people, did not know what you would be getting into and probably didn't have the equipment or know how to do a very nice job like you have accomplished.

          Very nice job.

I have heard that jeweling the metal surfaces was thought to help the oil / lubricant stay in place.
I don't know how true that is but it sure does look nice.

81 turbo, the side plate took 35 minutes. The internals about another 30 minutes. Jeweling has to be about the most tedious boring thing you can do on a mill or drill process. Jeweling is not hard, but requires exact movements of the x and y table to look good. The installation of the digital readouts on the mill required to do the job was a pain. I am glad I did add them as it makes the mill a much more precision piece of equipment in the long run and only cost me about $125.00 plus 8 hours of labor. Sure would have made milling 80% lowers a much easier process.

sealocan, I do think jeweling would hold lubricants better, but its also an abrasion to the surface, so it would also create way more friction than a non jeweled part. I think its primary purpose is a visual affect, and also to help obfuscate scratches in the future if they occur.

The reason I jeweled this particular gun was an attempt to bring at least those areas back to spec like they were when it left the factory.
