AR article on the CMP 1911's

Interesting article. I'm sure this won't fan the flames of desire, haha!!

It's a happy ending for these 8,000 pistols fought on battlefields from Europe to Southeast Asia, only to then be consigned to long-term storage in a government warehouse.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
    Come on...what harm??

Didn't scare me away from sending in my paperwork on the 4th.

somebody had mentioned they though these would all be in bad used shape, and only good for their "collector" value. But these appear to be shooters for sure. The re-park makes them not original finish, and not nearly as pretty as blued ones they'll put up on auction. But I'm certainly in.

Was reading the article , and in the comments section there are many who are unhappy with the prices being asked.

The price is less than current market.

I bet some will be flipped for a 4-500 markup.

Sure glad I already have 1 in the barn. Didn't pay any where near the CMP's rip-off, er, asking price,

Agreed, I'd bet there will be a number of flippers out there!
