    C&R shotgun

If you could pick 1 C&R shotgun as your first C&R shotty what would it be?

    A Browning A5.

I am on day 2 of a 4 day tactical shotgun class with my 1963 Belgian Light Twelve. It is performing beautifully.

I once had 4, and am down to 2 of them. The Light Twelve and a Sweet Sixteen. I also have a Remington 11, I guess that counts too.

        +1.

Although I never wanted a shotty (I freaking hate that abbreviation), I did want a shotgun for home defense. After going through a few different makes and models, I found my perfect home companion.

I picked an Ithaca 37 when I had that choice.

And I wouldn't and don't call it a "shotty" as that's a name used only by operators beyond Tier !.

              I said a Winchester 1897 because I already have a 1943 USGI Model 12 Trench gun. I would love a nice 1897 like highpower's.

My bayonet scabbard is British. I need to find a proper USGI scabbard.

Would definitely also want an 1897 trenchgun. Can't afford one though, and I'm not about to cut down a standard model to make a clone.

                  ^^
I do have an 1897 made in 1909 but wouldn't want to cut up an original and spend money to make a fake.

Prewar Ithaca Model 37 with a 20" Cylinder bore "riot" barrel and a 26" solid rib barrel. They WORK, and look good doin' it.

Thanks for not cutting up an unmolested 1897. It's non of my business and to each his own I guess but I really hate to see Winchesters chopped up. I've wanted one for quite a while.

I second the request that you not use the term "shotty."

It's as bad as saying "Frisco" when talking about the City.

It's OK to say alone behind closed doors with the lights out.

Parker, double triggers, ejectors, prince of wales grip.

Barring that (or in conjuction) L.C. Smith Ideal Grade, same set up.

Then a Dan Lefever, a Remington 1894 with Damascus, and then the search would go on for Brit guns.

Or just settle in for more early American SxS goodness and find the rather rare sub gauge versions. I once missed a .410 LC Smith, I was beat to it by minutes.

i have never used the term "Shotty" but i respect his right to the first amendment. Might be a common term from where he comes from. Now i frequently use the shortened version of SF mentioned in this thread but i usually combine it with more insulting terminology. (LOL). Like i said it is all about where you are from usually.

How about Izzy, Ishy, Sesty, Husky, when referring to military surplus rifles I bet you all enjoy that as much as shotty.
