So I recently picked up 3 M1 Garands from CMP hoping at least one would be a keeper.
The best seems to be a 500K serial number with a D28287-12SA RE6B bolt, and a D28290-7-SA trigger group. The barrel has SA-F6535448 4 54 A211B with a tiny eagle under 3 stars. I would eventually like to replace the new CMP stock with something USGI. My question is in the trigger assembly there is a piece of plastic taped on the inside with the markings:
YAN = O (could be a 0 or O)
YUK = 14 GIT (could be a I or L)
anyone know what that means?
